VERA'S BIO

Vera Earline Lusk (Jazzy Vee), daughter of Minister Jesse Lusk and Earline Lusk was born in Cleveland, Texas. At the age of 5 years old, Vera was well-known for obtaining tremendous joy from singing for the Lord. At an early age, she began composing songs and voiced aspiration of becoming a gospel-recording artist. Her desire was to utilize her God-given talents to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through music.
Vera attended North Harris County College. She is a faithful member of First Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where Minister Willard Allen, Sr. is the Pastor. Vera sings in the choir and works in Media Department filming the sermons every week. She also served as the Activities coordinator up until 2015. Vera had achieved finalist status in the Sammy Davis Jr. Awards. She has performed for the troops at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Baltimore, Maryland. Vera has excelled in the past in coordinating the Houston Livestock Rodeo/Black Heritage Day where she performed and facilitated the booking of 19 gospel groups. Vera also is the Manager of GWUSA and is an Executive Producer with RLC Productions. She also performed in over 12 Texas Prison under “Servants of Christ Prison Ministry”.
Vera has done a variety of TV/Cable shows. Vera co-hosted a Cable TV weekly Variety Show, “Sweet Man’s Corner”. Currently, Vera, who goes by the name Jazzy Vee, is the Co-Host of a cable weekly show called, “The Place” with Mama Jo & Jazzy Vee, a very entertaining show produced by Mama Jo’ Ministries. Vera is also the Vice President of Mama Jo’ Ministries. Next, Vera decided to bring back her own show, Jazzy Vee’s Gospel Mix. She has brought in James JR. Anderson of J. Anderson Productions. Along with Luskco Productions, Jazzy Vee’s Gospel Mix is a weekly encouraging show of the word, praise dancing, gospel rap, poetry, and singing. Vera is also hosting a new show produced by Can Do Productions called Eyes On Icons of HOUSTON. In 2013, Vera will be joining the ALL NATIONS TV family. This move will allow Jazzy Vee to touch numerous more lives.
Not limiting herself, Vera has utilized her acting skills by performing in a Radio Soap Opera called “Gospel Hill” and performed in a stage play called “When Hell Pays a Visit”.
In 2017, Vera joined the group For His Glory Christian Alliance (FHGCA) along with founder and close friend Minister Jacquie Foreman. Not stopping there, in 2018, Vera is hitting the airways again on www.galaxygospelradio.com with her new show that airs on Friday at pm.
In 2019, Vera’s long wait of her official professional gospel singles, Time is Short and He’ll Make It Alright, has hit the airways. Both songs have touched the hearts of many and is making its way across the country of being played on numerous radio stations. In addition, Vera has teamed up with Pastor S. Howard as a Co-Host of a serious hard hitting topics called, “Things We Don’t Talk About”.
Vera has two children, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Vera is not slowing down, she is moving ahead full speed. Vera’s motto for life is based on Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Here comes Jazzy Vee.
